Neighborhood Knowledge: Holly Schwartz

A resident of Eastside Costa Mesa for several years, and Newport Beach more recently, Villa agent Holly Schwartz loves the Newport-Mesa community.

“I recently got married and moved to Newport Beach but am still close to all of the conveniences of Costa Mesa that I know and love,” Holly explained. “I truly feel at home in the community and spend a lot of time at the shops and restaurants on 17th Street and at The Triangle. Since I am so well versed in Costa Mesa and the surrounding areas of Newport Beach, those are the areas I specialize in – sell what you know!”

So tell us, what is the best part about living in Costa Mesa?
Costa Mesa has something for everyone. There is not only world-class shopping and the arts but there are local businesses with a hip vibe and lots of creativity throughout the city. I also love the parks and the sense of community and neighborhood pride. Plus, it’s a quick drive (or pleasant bike ride) to the beach and very accessible to freeways, which is great for commuters. That’s what lured me to Costa Mesa originally – I was commuting to the Valley and looking for a place that was near the beach and was also freeway-friendly.

Do you have a favorite local restaurant?
One of my favorite restaurants in Costa Mesa is Mi Casa. It’s a well-established Mexican restaurant on 17th Street that has delicious food and a warm, inviting atmosphere.

Are there any hidden gems that you like to share with homebuyers who are new to the area?
One of my favorite places to explore is Fairview Park. The park is huge and I enjoy walking my dog there and enjoying the ocean views and scenery. As for shopping and dining, it’s always entertaining to roam around at The Camp, The Lab and SoCo. For a night out with friends, I love all of the live music and trendy bars around town. The Harp is always a good time!

What does a typical weekend look like for you, if you’re not working?
When I’m not showing homes or hosting open houses, I enjoy heading down to the beach and bike riding with my husband or walking my dog. After a fun day in the sun we will usually go grab a bite at one of our favorite sushi restaurants in the area.
