We Are Excited About This New Brunch Spot In Newport Beach

Orange Coast Magazine recently outlined 4 new, exciting restaurants. While all of them sound delicious, one, in particular, caught our attention. Enter, Tupelo Junction Cafe. Orange Coast writes, “Tupelo Junction was a State Street staple for years, known for its all-day menu of Southern favorites. Late last year it closed and resurfaced in Newport Beach, and we’re luckier for it: cinnamon-apple beignets, fried green tomato BLT, pecan-crusted trout.” And while they are not strictly open for brunch (they actually have full breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus), that is the meal we are most excited for.

After more than 10 years in Santa Barbara, the Sunday brunch staple from State Street has relocated to beautiful Newport Beach. While a sad loss for Santa Barbara, it’s certainly a gain for Orange County. According to their website, “The restaurant is true to the funky, Cannery Village side of the town's personality: Mimosas come in mason jars, the coffee mugs are country-style crockery, and the walls display fruit-crate labels as artwork.”

While still in Santa Barbara, Tupelo Junction was famous for their Cinnamon Apple Beignets, and we figure it is just a matter of time before all of Orange County knows all about them. Some other tantalizing dishes that stand out as “Grade A” brunch choices are their Pumpkin Oatmeal Waffle with Caramelized Bananas, Candied Pecans & Real Maple Syrup, the Vanilla Dipped French Toast with Jumbleberry Syrup & Fresh Whipped Cream, and for a more hearty meal, the Smoked Bacon, Spinach, Caramelized Onion, Tomato & Gouda Scramble with House Potatoes.

Really, we are excited to try everything on their menu. Check out the full menu here. Thank you, Santa Barbara!
